Tate & Lyle,
a U.S. subsidiary of a British food and industrial ingredient
producer, announced that it will invest $260 million
to construct the first phase of a new corn wet mill
in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Once finished the plant will have
the capacity to process 300,000 bushels of corn per
day, which will be used to produce ethanol and cationic
starches for the paper industry. This expansion will
allow the firm to increase its participation in the
growing renewable fuel market.
