In February 2007, Hydroserre Tennessee, LLC, a U.S. subsidiary of a HydroSerre Mirabel based in Canada, announced that it has selected Overton County to build a new production facility. Using hydroponic technology, the company will grow "Clean and Natural" lettuces and greens nearly year-round within a controlled atmosphere. Hydroserre will invest in excess of $40 million into the community and provide nearly 300 jobs. This will be the company's first greenhouse in the U.S.
